I’ve been an absolute failure when it comes to my blog. I’m pretty good about updating my stories but the blog has fallen by the wayside. I am not sure if this is going to count as a comeback but I am going to start putting more effort into it. And what’s the best way to start then to write about Oreos and baking?
My brother’s wedding is next week (I’ll be adding photos and flip cam video to this blog after the fact) and I got the odd urge to bake something for the rehearsal dinner. If you know me personally you can confirm I burn my grilled cheese sandwiches and have made one cake previously in my life.
But I think I found something I can do, and do well. I’m making Oreo Pops. It was a birthday tradition to make an Oreo pie for my brother (sometimes two because he wanted one and the rest of the family would get one) and I wanted to bake something he’d like but with a slight twist on the his traditional pie.

My brother Colby and his soon-to-be wife Malia enjoying some birthday Oreo pie from two years ago. Did I forget to mention he's my younger brother and they're babies getting married? Oh young love!
I’ll make my first batch sometime this week or weekend and test them out on my roommates. Look for pictures later in the blog and I’ll describe shopping and baking the goodies.
Then my mom and I will make the real things before the rehearsal dinner.
I got the inspiration from Oreo Truffles at Recipe.com and Oreo Pops from Sweet and Bubbles.
Yummy right?
